Mr. Elliot Ganz

Elliot Ganz is Executive Vice President and General Counsel of the LSTA. In that role Mr. Ganz manages the LSTA’s legal department and co-heads its Government Policy and Advocacy Committee. Mr. Ganz also directs the LSTA’s litigation initiatives including its influential amicus advocacy.
Prior to joining the LSTA, Mr. Ganz spent 22 years as in-house counsel to a number of U.S. and foreign banks where he was responsible for all aspects of the corporate loan and securitization products.
Mr. Ganz began his legal career in 1980 as an associate at the law firm of Lord Day & Lord where he focused on film and media finance and moved to Chase Manhattan Bank in 1983 where he concentrated on secured lending.
Mr. Ganz received his B.A. in Economics and History in1977 from Queens College, City University of New York (including a year spent at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem), and his J.D. in 1980 from the New York University School of Law where he served as Research Editor of the Annual Survey of American Law. He was admitted to the Bar of the State of New York in May 1981.
Mr. Ganz was the first chairman of the Legal Committee of the LSTA and has served as a member of its board of directors. He served as a member of the Steering Committee of the Joint Market Practices Forum on Credit Derivatives that produced the “Statement of Principles and Recommendations Regarding the Handling of Material Nonpublic Information by Credit Market Participants”.
